Boy with Dollar Balloon, cast bronze from Miguel Guia´s “Graffiti Collection”
With this sculpture the artist presents a translation to the tridimensional world of the graffiti language expressions as shown on any city walls. He also winks at us with the shining balloon in blue nickel, in the shape of a dollar, inviting us to share some kind of complicity in the rendering of this game of forms and ideas.
Miguel Guía ´s aim is to transmit the surprise and denounce related to the nowadays topics and current issues through a Street Art interpretation.
With this sculpture whose metallic effects stand out , inspired in his previous “Niño con Globo” , Miguel pays homage to two of the most significant works of the Urban Art, the “Girl with Balloon” by Bansky, the world famous British creator, and the “Dog Balloon” by the American Jeff Koons, an icon among living Pop artists, both of them greatly admired by Miguel Guía.
