Oil on canvas "Sherezade"
Born at Seville, Spain, at the age of seven Chias completed his first oil on canvas painting and from here he went on to sell his work to the tourists which funded him to attend the Academy of Fine Arts, Seville. This new knowledge of artistic culture was hugely influenced by artists such as Murillo, Zurbaran, Gonzalo Bilbao and Gomez Gil.
Chias' paints new compositions, delights in the colours, clothing and forms. His work captures the suggestion of beauty whilst always leaving space for imagination and mystery. He has been shown and collected consistently in his native Spain and more noticeably in the Arab Emirates, America and the UK.
